Why the Youth Leadership programme?
The FUTURES initiative recognises that young people play a pivotal role in tackling some of the most pressing issues that humanity faces today. Whether it is the urgent climate crisis, social injustice, economic inequality, community disintegration, human rights, or the persistent global challenges of discrimination, intolerance, and violence, young adults are at the forefront of change. That’s where the FUTURES youth leadership programme steps in, aiming to empower young individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to address these critical challenges.
Our programme is built on the foundation of civic and personal responsibility, offering young people the tools and support necessary to become catalysts for transformative change. We aim to instil in them the values and insights of leadership required to confront the world’s current pressing issues. Our curriculum includes strategies for combating inequality and discrimination, fostering peace, promoting interfaith and intercultural dialogue, integrating sustainability and harmony principles into contemporary society, and teaching social entrepreneurship techniques for revitalisation and renewal.
Specifically, the programme provides a comprehensive range of skills, including ethical leadership, intercultural understanding, diversity and inclusivity, sustainable community development, principles of a harmonious and well-being economy, project management, AI, digital marketing, negotiation, entrepreneurship, presentation skills, systems thinking, teamwork, collaboration, leadership, management, advocacy, and human rights.
